Say it.
All of it.

Vani is a speaking coach for people who stutter, freeze, or lose their words, and for anyone with a talk, an interview or a room to walk into. She waits. She hears how you feel. She never finishes your sentence.

Why she's different ↓

Needs a microphone. A real call with Vani, up to 30 minutes. Not for emergencies: in India call 112, or Tele-MANAS 14416.

Idle

01 · Patience

She waits.

20s

Vani will sit through twenty seconds of silence before she takes a turn. Most voice assistants take it after about seven. A block, a repetition, a long breath: none of it ends your turn.

61% of people who stutter say voice assistants cut them off. When the assistant was taught to wait longer, interruptions fell by 79% in Apple's study (Lea et al., 2023).

Vani never finishes a word for you, never guesses the word you're stuck on unless you've asked for help with words, and never says relax, calm down or slow down as a reaction to a stutter.

If you ask for a moment, she goes quiet and stays quiet.

02 · Emotion

She hears how, not just what.

While you talk, a second listener hears how you sound: hundreds of shades of feeling and qualities of voice, read live. With your camera on, it reads how much your face moves too. Your own device measures pace and pauses. Vani gets short background notes, the kind a good coach keeps in her head:

[voice] tense and rising; calm low; sounding shaky and a little fast
[speech] a little fast; two long pauses; speaking 71% of the time
[face] face barely moving; a small smile; looks concentrated, a little doubtful

She never reads them aloud and never quotes a number. Tension rising? She slows down and shrinks the task. Flat voice on a talk? She coaches vocal variety. Tension dropping after an exercise? She names the win: that one sounded steadier. What you tell her always outranks what the listener hears.

  • Tone of voice, read live from the sound of your voice, in ten-second stretches.
  • Your face, if you turn the camera on. One small picture every few seconds: how much your face moves while you speak (a still face can mean nerves or tiredness), a smile after a hard sentence.
  • Pace and pauses on your own device: how fast you speak, pauses over two seconds, time spent speaking. No words leave your device for this part.
  • Quiet notes into the live call. Vani is written to treat them as hints, to ask rather than tell, and to let your own words win.
  • What is kept. Your transcript and the numbers above go into your own history so Vani can remember you; the sound and the pictures do not.

03 · Fifteen rooms, one voice

One conversation, built for your exact problem.

Vani is built as a set of practice rooms. You never hear the seams: she listens to what you need and the right room's method takes over. Every room inherits the same patience and the same safety rules.

Plus a Safety & Crisis Care room that every other room can reach, and a Debrief that closes each session with wins, ratings and one small real-world challenge.

Early internal result, November 2026: on our 13 safety-critical test conversations (crisis words, a seizure aura, stroke signs, a child, "cure me in a week"), the same underlying AI passed 3 as a generic assistant and 11 as Vani. A full comparison against generic assistants, judged blind, is in progress.

05 · Science-backed

Built on what actually works.

Speech restructuring

Across trials of adults who stutter, restructuring programmes cut stuttering frequency by about half on average. The Camperdown Program worked as well over telehealth as in clinic. Vani teaches the same family of techniques, one at a time.

Brignell et al., systematic review · Carey et al., Camperdown telehealth RCT
CBT for the fear

Automated online CBT (iGlebe) was about as good as in-clinic CBT with psychologists for adults who stutter. Vani's Confidence Lab runs the same tools: predictions, experiments, exposure ladders.

Menzies et al., JSLHR 2019
Say that you stutter

Listeners rated speakers who disclosed their stutter as more friendly, outgoing and confident. Informative wording beats apologetic. Vani practises the line with you.

Social anxiety, done right

The Clark & Wells model, first-line in NICE guidance: drop safety behaviours, turn attention outward, test the prediction. It works remotely.

Loud, not strained

For Parkinson's, intensive loudness training (LSVT LOUD, SPEAK OUT!) is the evidence-based route. Vani coaches "think loud" and sends you to a speech-language pathologist for the programme.

Slow breathing only

Over-breathing can provoke absence seizures. Vani never coaches fast or deep breathing, for anyone, and refuses when asked.

06 · Safety outranks coaching

A coach, not a clinician.

  • Crisis words: coaching stops. She asks if you're safe, shares Tele-MANAS 14416 (India, free, 24/7) and 112, and stays on the line. She cannot end the call herself in a crisis.
  • Seizure aura: stop, sit or lie down somewhere safe, follow your plan; 112 if it lasts over five minutes, repeats or causes injury.
  • Sudden slurred speech, a drooping face, a weak arm: call 112 now. No practice.
  • No cure promises. Speech and confidence improve with practice; fluency varies day to day. She says so.
  • Under 13: a parent and a speech-language pathologist, always.

Vani does not diagnose, prescribe or replace therapy. She practises with you between sessions, prepares you for the room you're walking into, and tells you plainly when a professional is the right next step: a speech-language pathologist (ISHA directory in India), a psychologist, a neurologist, an ENT doctor.

Every room links to the safety room. We test the crisis paths before every release.

08 · Cognivani, in plain words

What people ask us.

What is Cognivani?

Cognivani is an AI speaking coach called Vani, built by Neulish in India. It is a live voice conversation for people who stutter, freeze or lose their words, and for anyone preparing for an interview, a talk, a viva or a difficult room. The name joins “cognition” with “vaani” (वाणी), the Hindi and Sanskrit word for voice.

How is Cognivani different from a generic assistant?

Vani waits up to 20 seconds of silence before she takes a turn, where most assistants take it after about seven. She never finishes a word for you, never says “relax” or “slow down” as a reaction to a stutter, and hears how you sound, not only what you say. She runs fifteen practice rooms built from the research, and she remembers every session.

Does Cognivani help with stammering or stuttering?

Cognivani teaches the same family of techniques that speech restructuring programmes use, one at a time, and practises them with you. It also runs confidence work for the fear that comes with stuttering. Speech and confidence improve with practice and fluency varies day to day; Vani says so and never promises a cure.

Is Cognivani speech therapy or medical treatment?

No. Cognivani is practice and coaching, not treatment. Vani does not diagnose or prescribe, and she tells you plainly when a speech-language pathologist, psychologist, neurologist or ENT doctor is the right next step. In an emergency in India call 112, or Tele-MANAS 14416.

Which languages does Cognivani speak?

English, Hindi and Hinglish. Indian English is never “corrected”. Vani switches language only when you clearly want her to.

How much does Cognivani cost?

A few free minutes to meet Vani, then plans from ₹299 a month (Starter), ₹499 (Plus, with your tone of voice read live), ₹899 (Pro, voice and camera) and ₹1,499 (Complete). Prices include GST, nothing auto-renews, and there is a 48-hour refund window.

Who makes Cognivani?

Neulish, a mental-health and wellbeing company from Lucknow, India (legal entity Cognibrex Technologies Private Limited). Its main app is Neulish at neulish.com. Your records are stored in India.

Cognivani is the home of Vani. Say it “cog-ni-VAA-ni”: cognition, plus vaani (वाणी), the word for voice.
